Acquisition of a majority stake in Zelisko

1972

Expansion of Zelisko’s Mödling site

1975

Knorr-Bremse Austria assumes market responsibility for Czechoslovakia

1976

Relocation from Vienna to Mödling

1981

Skach GmbH founded for trading of original equipment and replacement parts for commercial vehicles

1988

Acquisition of the remaining Zelisko shares

1990

Integration of Zelisko’s machine construction department

1993

Introduction of integrated production networks. For a global market, Knorr-Bremse Austria develops and produces:

  • Eddy current brakes
  • Sanding systems
  • Windscreen wiper and wash systems
  • Brake test units

Market responsibility for Hungary and other CEE countries

Lower Austrian Innovation Award for the eddy current brake

Integration of the IFE Doors division – entrance systems for trains

Knorr-Bremse Romania founded as a subsidiary

Assumption of responsibility for Knorr-Bremse Poland
