Mödling is also home to Knorr-Bremse subsidiary Dr. techn. J. Zelisko GmbH a company developing and manufacturing instrument transformers, signalling systems for rail and road as well as traffic management systems, supplying them to customers all over the world.
Austria’s Knorr-Bremse GmbH offers comprehensive project engineering for all rail vehicles, including planning and design of brake systems for tramway systems EMUs, DMUs, RIC passenger coaches, freight cars, and locomotives; additionally, Knorr-Bremse GmbH provides all related systems and commissioning services required. Within the Group, it possesses the development competency for magnetic track brakes, eddy current brakes, flange devices, windscreen wiper and washing systems, sanding systems, wheel flange lubrication and brake test units, all of which are also manufactured at its Mödling site. Additionally , the company is responsible for the distribution of rail vehicle systems in 14 Central and Eastern European countries and operates its own branches in Poland and Romania.
